Ian plays flute on Wendy MaHarry song called "Dyan Is Resting".

Check out at her website www.wendymaharry.com

Click on 'rarities' on that website. And see: 'ian anderson's mix of dyan is resting'! The whole song you can download, 'made' by Ian himself!

I like it very much, and some flute pieces are fenomonal (especially from 2:40 - 3:03 minutes :D ).

The music does me thinking of Tori Amos, of who I have a few CD's.

If I go to the site I read very big "Released officially released in the Netherlands", so I go to the musicstore tomorrow, haha.

From an interview with Wendy:

The new tracks feature a guest appearance by Jethro Tull spearhead, Ian Anderson, who contributes his trademark flute to the eerie MaHarry original, "Dyan Is Resting." The song tells the true story of a New York City socialite, who, in a fit of depression, leapt off the ledge of a high rise building in Manhattan. It is among one of the powerful new tracks.

"' Dyan Is Resting' is about this New York woman who circulated in the highest social circles. When she killed herself, there was an article about her in the paper that I read. After that, I imagined what might be going through her mind just before she jumped."

"When Dwight* heard the song, he thought Ian Anderson would really like it."

"So, we sent it off to Scotland. A few weeks later I get this call from an English man and without telling me who he was, he asks me if I knew how to make Indoneasian fish chowder. I thought this was really funny, so I kept talking to him and it turned out to be Ian."

" He said he really liked the song, and he was happy there was intelligent life out there in the music world. He then offered to play on it for free. He was really wonderful."

* Dwight is her husband and also the producer.

Typical Ian Anderson humour!

I think so, because there stands 'ian anderson's mix', so it looks a different version. Why should they named it so specific otherwise? But I will have to buy the CD tomorrow, so than I can listen if it is really a different version.

Also nice: Alessia D'Andrea has released a CD-single called Locomotive Breath, and it is a cover version of the song featuring Ian Anderson on flute! That also stands on the cover of the single. You can listen a short version of it, called 'Traccia Ghost', on her website:

http://www.alessiadandrea.com

Click on 'open website', than on the sign right-under in the screen, and than on 'Musica'. Then click on the orange letters 'Ascolta' after 'Traccia Ghost', and you can listen that version!

But I have this single buyed by an on-line shop, so I hope to listen the long version in a few days, and to see the video. Should the video also features Anderson? I hope so!

Also foto's on that site of her as guest-musician in a Ian Anderson orchestra show in Italy.

Richtig, wenn Du weiterklickst, dann siehst Du aber auch, daß die Platte aus Florida verschickt wird, daß ist mir dann mit Porto und Zoll _etwas_ zu teuer.

cheers,
