Ich bin hier auf etwas gestoßen, von dem noch herzlich wenig dabeisteht:

Vieles davon ist in den vergangenen Jahren bereits an uns (über ZDF und über EagleVision) herangetragen worden, bei Tampa 1976 bin ich mal besonders gespannt! (Nicht nur, ob vollständig, sondern überhaupt).
Jede Aufnahme bis 1978 interessiert den Klassik-Tull-Fan besonders, davon ist aber nur wenig dabei...

Well, a little bit strange they re-release the Isle of Wight show and the Montreux show in this box, but I'm curious about the quality of the other parts! And whether each concert is full length. Loreley and Dortmund were previously also at least in part released on the Jack-In-The-Green DVD. London was of course the Living With The Past DVD. Hope they include the complete uncut concert now (no chance, I'm afraid)! Hilversum is only a couple of songs (8 were recorded, 5 were broadcasted), since this were studio sessions. Would they really have the original tapes of the Santiago, Munich and Tampa concerts?

Das wird nicht vollständig sein.
Ob der bereits veröffentlichten Shows ist diese VÖ ein wenig dubios. Bleibt zu hoffen, daß:
- München 1980 vollständig ist, d.h. mehr als die bekannten ~45 Min (ist nicht von auszugehen, weil IOW und Tampa jeweils ~60 Minuten sind, passt wohl nicht viel mehr auf eine DVD rauf.
- Hilversum 1999 (ich war dabei, juhu!) a) komplett und b) in echtem 16:9 vorliegt (das ist nur letterboxed ausgestrahlt worden)
Insgesamt ne verpasste Chance, endlich (!) mal was aus Paris 1975 zu machen ...
In der Annahme, daß Loreley 1996 nur ein Song ist, der Rest schon veröffentlicht (Montreux gar in HD auf BD!), bzw. nicht viel neues bringt (Lugano? Gähn!), eher ne halbgare sache ...

Wäre beides möglich.
Schade, daß es anscheinend keine weiteren Tracks bei den anderen Gigs gibt (besonders München 1980), das ist wohl alles das, was auch ausgestrahlt wurde und enstprechend bei den allermeisten im Schrank steht. Den Sinn, aus London 2001 und Montreux 2003, sowie Dortmund 1982 nur einzelne Stücke dabei zu packen, sehe ich absolut überhaupt nicht (dann lieber ein paar von diesen alten, völlig genialen TV Sachen!)...

Schade! Wieder mal 'ne verpasste Chance, den Fans was Neues zu bieten. Gibts nur Konzertbruchstücke in entsprechender Qualität oder ist die Stückelei Absicht? Da werde ich wohl die Finger davon lassen!

also wenn ich es richtig sehe, dann enthält die Box doch weit mehr neues Material, als hier vorab befürchtet wurde (siehe den Thread unter Jethro Tull News vom 18. März dieses Jahres, in dem kräftig geunkt wurde)

Für meinen Geschmack hätte man alles post 1990 weglassen können und dafür mal was gescheites älteres ausgraben können.
Paris 1975 muss es ja irgendwo geben.
So muss ich jetzt 4 DVDs kaufen, von denen ich 2 garantiert nicht ein einziges mal in den Player legen werde, und von den anderen eigentlich fast alles schon habe (natürlich in schlechterer Qualität, was dann auch der Kaufgrund sein wird)

Ja, und Stockholm '69, Tanglewood '70, verschiedene andere TullAvision, Royal Albert Hall '80, MTV Capital Theatre '84 full show und und und....
Gespannt bin ich auf das Booklet "...beinhaltet Fotos aus Ian Andersons Privatarchiv und Texte zu jedem der gezeigten Konzerte von Joel McIver."

Hallo,
mein Set kam gestern aus "UK".
Erster kurzer Eindruck: Wegen dem Buch sollte sich das keiner kaufen. Musste mich selten so durch ein Booklet oder Sleevenotes von Tull quälen. Die Infotexte sind durch die Aufzählung der Stücke gelängt. IA biegt sich die Geschichte vom Wechsel der Tull-Mitglieder immer extremer zurecht. Sinngemäss: außer IA, MB und Dave Pegg hatten alle Musiker immer nur einen Vertrag für eine LP und die anschliessende Tour. Daher ist es ganz natürlich, daß die dann halt anschliessend irgendwann nicht mehr dabei waren. "Rausgepushed" wurden nur 2.
Zum eigentlichen Inhalt kann ich noch nicht viel sagen. Außer dass die Tampa-Aufnahmen von der Qualität auf den ersten Blick auch nicht besser sind, als die, die wir schon kennen; d.h. Blue-Eyes und Consorten haben da wohl schon das Optimale rausgeholt. Für Weiteres hatte ich noch keine Zeit. Ich freue mich vor allem auf München 1980 ...
P.S.: Alle Aufnahmen liegen in 2.0, AC3 5.1 und DTS 5.1 Sound vor.
P.P.S.: ... sollte oben garnicht so negativ klingen, für die 4 DVDs sind die 20 Euro (Amazon UK inkl. Porto) insgesamt gut angelegt.
