In an interview in August Ian let shine through that the orchestral concerts will not be the last concerts he does this year. Now it's confirmed! Ian and Martin will do an acoustic tour. Maybe like A Little Light Music? I don't know, for me it's a new format.

The facts I know:

-The line-up will be Ian and Martin, along with a violinist (Lucia or Ann Marie?).
-Andrew will not be present.
-Doane most likely not too.
-Jon is unknown (my feeling says 'no').
-Ian and Martin take some 'guest' with them.

I've heard Ian contacted two other musicians to go with him.

My guess about the guests: some ex-Jethro Tull members, or other 'Itallian-Convention-people' like Tinkara?

Almost a year ago my house rocked by the music of Tinkara, who I discovered by then. Yes, indeed, I've heard of her because the attention Ian gave her on the official website. I wondered if they were still in contact, but now I know they are. Last December I already was surprised that the music before the orchestal concert in the concerthall included some Tinkara. But after that it was silent.

Until this weekend: Tinkara is on the convention in Italy. After reading that, I remembered a sentence on her website:

"New concert performances with Jethro Tull and/or during orchestral and solo outings by Ian can be expected in 2006."

Did I discover a 'guest' of the acoustic tour?! Would be fantastic!

Their will be UK dates, but the concerts wich are confirmed:

24/11/06 013 Tilburg, Netherlands
26/11/06 Konserthuset Malmö, Sweden
27/11/06 Amager Bio København, Denmark
28/11/06 House of Culture Helsinki, Finland

Almost every newspaper in The Netherlands wrote that Jethro Tull comes to our country! Bought my tickets yesterday (23 september, the day they went on sale). What do you think? Already nearly sold-out! In a few hours all the seating places were gone (80% of the tickets), just some standing places are on sale.

According to the ministry the line up for the acoustic tour will be the logical one:

Anderson / Barre / O'Hara / Goodier / Duncan + Ann Marie Calhoun!

They also say that it is officially billed as Anderson/Barre - Acoustical Tull with guests.

Actually I can't wait to see this show!

Also persönlich empfinde ich eine Tull-Acoustic-Tour genauso als würden demnächst die Flippers einen Hardrockauftritt ankündigen!

Ich bin verdammt heiß auf eine Akustik Tour. Ist mal wieder was anderes. Erhöht auch die Hoffnung, dass mal wieder Songs gespielt werden, die man sonst nicht zu hören bekommt. Außerdem erhalten die Konzerte durch die Tatsache, dass auch Martin dabei ist, auch ihre Legitimation.

Gibt es irgendwelche Hinweise, dass es auch Termine in Deutschland geben wird?

Bisher leider nicht! Aber ich gehe davon aus, daß dieses Format spätestens im kommenden Jahr auch bei uns präsentiert wird. Sofern es denn funktioniert, wovon ich allerdings voll und ganz überzeugt bin.

Tull-Musik hatte immer einen sehr erheblichen Anteil an akustischer Musik. Ich war seinerzeit ein klein wenig enttäuscht über die "A Little Light Music" Tour, da die ja allenfalls als semi-akustisch gelten konnte! So geil wie sie an sich war, ursprünglich hatte ich mir darunter etwas anderes vorgestellt! Mal sehen was sie dieses mal aus dem Hut zaubern......

Hätte Bock nach Tillburg zu fahren . Ich habe in diesem Jahr noch kein Tull oder Anderson Konzert gesehen und so langsam leide ich unter Entzugserscheinungen

Das Duncan dabei ist, damit hab ich schon gerechnet. Ist IMO auch heißester Anwärter auf einen Doane-Ersatz, sollte es wirklich soweit kommen...

Die Tour find ich auf alle Fälle interessant. Vielleicht ziehen sie es diesmal wirklich durch, und machen eine reine Akustik-Tour. Ich denke Locomotive Breath und Aqualung würden Unplugged wieder ein ganz anderes Gesicht bekommen

ganz Deiner Meinung, außer dass ich sehr enttäuscht war von "A Little Light Music".
Ich hoffe, die Akustiktour kommt nach Deutschland!

Und? Fährst Du jetzt oder nicht? Für den 24. sind noch ein paar Restkarten erhältlich. Allerdings fürchte ich, daß dies nicht mehr allzu lange der Fall sein wird!
