2022 sees the publication of a brand new book about Jethro Tull, telling the band's story in a way it's never been told before - by you. We're looking for your help in compiling a 'people's history' of Tull, and so we'd love to hear your stories about discovering the band's music, where and when you first saw them in concert and what you remember of the show or shows you saw. We're also interested in seeing your photos, ticket stubs, set lists and any other memorabilia you may have acquired. So whether you've seen Tull once or a hundred times, please send your memories to

Da sind nun einige -zurecht, wie ich finde, ganz ordentlich angepisst, das hat dann wohl mehr als ein Geschmäckle.
Hier ein Stament eines der Autoren:

They, Tull Management, have known about the plans for our book for several years and they indicated several times that they wanted no part of it.
However, more recently (January approx) when we announced our book would be published this year they contacted me asking for sight of the contents, but as per previous discussions they wanted to contribute sod all to it, other than previously requesting a cut of any ‘profit’, advising us we would have to pay for interviews via them, and having full editorial control. Their request was refused.
At the start of the year they also advised me ‘to be careful about copyrights’, it was a veiled threat, so, to ensure we were on solid ground I and our publisher requested permission from BMG/Hal Leonard to use some lyric extracts simply as chapter headings. I was told our request had been refused by Tull Management.
I was also told that if I sent them a draft they ‘might’ advertise it on their FB page which would ‘add a nought or two to sales figures’, I said we’re not in it for the money, I’d be happy to sell enough to simply break even on the production costs than to kowtow and have it under their editorial control.
Ian is the source of all things Tull? Well yes……from Ian’s perspective. And this newly announced edition isn’t being written by Ian, no more than Ian wrote the ballad….that was Mark Blake.
There’s much more to the history behind our discussions with Tull Management than just the above.
Am I pissed off? Yes.
Is it sour grapes? No.
Why? Because I fully expected it from them, they have been singularly obstructive from the start. That’s why I declined their request for a look at the text.
