Hab auf facebook einen Komentar von "A New Day, The Jethro Tull magazine" in einer Diskussion über weitere Remixes von Steven Wilson gelesen: "He has mixed A". Kann das jemand hier bestätigen? Kommt dazu auch eine Box? Das wäre ja der Hammer...

Infos über die A-Remixes interessieren mich auch sehr. Gibt es hier aus Insider-Kreisen irgendwelche Neuigkeiten? Ein eine 40th Anniversary-Box wird sich wohl nicht mehr ausgehen dieses Jahr, wenn noch nicht mal offiziell ist, dass an der Scheibe gearbeitet wird.

Was soll es offizielleres geben als das D. Rees es bestätigt hat ? Der wirds wohl wissen...

Die Bestätigung ist sicherlich verlässlich. Ein Releasedatum oder eine Erwähnung der Remix-Arbeit und bevorstehenden Veröffentlichung auf den offiziellen Kanälen, und was man sich vom Material erwarten kann, gibt es noch nicht.

Wenn DR es sagt, wird es stimmen. Ich war da ja schon vor einiger Zeit sehr zuversichtlich. Erstmal gibt es aber die Benefit Box, also wird es keine 40th Anniversary Edition.

Für die A-Box haben sie ja zum ersten Mal auch ein Jahr mehr Zeit, da erst 2022 die 40th-Broadsword ansteht. Also rechne ich ab jetzt fest mit einer 2021er Veröffentlichung. Klasse - ich freue mich riesig, da ich die A immer schon mochte. Auch wenn es kein "must-have"-Album für Viele ist, so haben mir die Atmosphäre und einige Songs (die ersten vier!) schon immer gefallen. Und wenn da jetzt noch ein outtake gefunden wurde.............

Ich freue mich eigentlich wie Bolle und bin mir sehr, sehr sicher, daß´die 'A' Box grandios werden wird. SW und auch A sind Alben, die ich immer "gut" fand, aber eben auch nicht mehr. Die SW Box hat das Album für mich so dermaßen nach vorne geworfen und näher gebracht, daß ich das von A auch erwarte und hoffe, das Album dadurch "neu" zu entdecken. Freu ich mich drauf!

@Laufi, weisst du, ob SW den neuen "A" mix gemacht hat?

Ich habe auch nur die second hand info, daß Dave Rees das gesagt hätte.

'A was recorded in Fulham, London during the Summer of 1980 and was intended to become an Ian Anderson solo album. The tapes were therefore marked ‘A’ for Anderson, which is how the album got its name, but the label asked the band to release it as Jethro Tull. It first hit the street on 29th August 1980 in the UK and on 1st September the same year in the US.

The album featured guest star, Eddie Jobson, on keyboards and electric violin. Jobson was renowned for his use of synthesizers and his work with the likes of Roxy Music, Frank Zappa and Yes. In 2017 he won the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award at the Progressive Music Awards and in 2019 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Roxy Music. Not surprisingly, ‘A’ was noted for its more synthesizer-based sound, something that divided fan’s opinions at the time!

Sie feiern also das 40ste Jubiläum mit der Box.

Release noch dieses Jahr maybe? Bin sehr gespannt.

Dieses Jahr? Das kann ich mir nicht vorstellen.

Benefit is being put together as we speak, with goodies not on the 2013 digipack edition, and the word is that A is fairly advanced, with the promise of a few unreleased associated tracks, some fantastic live recordings, the obligatory Slipstream video and other surprises and of course the SW remixes, all spread across a mamoth 3CD and 3DVD package.
And hooray, work has even begun on BATB, although that's a long way down the track yet. As to when any of them will be released, that's all very dependent on when pressing and printing plants are available again.
And furtehr on, it is my belief that Ian's often reported dissatisfaction with teh Drum Machine on UW will result in a rerecording of that album with real drums, as part of another book-set, despite Ian's finantial reservations expressed in the last issue of AND. This is ONLY my belief.....
